SEN Teaching Assistant

Contract: Fixed Term linked to child at school

Hours: 30hrs Monday to Friday.  Term time only plus 5 training days

Salary: Level 2a Point 3 £9.36 per hour

 

We are a single form entry semi-rural primary school seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant with extensive knowledge of autism. We are looking for someone with a caring nature and kind personality to offer 1:1 support to a child in year 1 who has autism and complex special educational needs, including physically challenging behaviour. They will be willing to work closely with teachers and other support staff to implement a range of strategies following a provision plan, to ensure the child’s personal, social and emotional learning needs are met. It is essential the candidate has the following attributes:

  • The ability to be flexible and work as part of a team.
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Experience of working with children in early Years and KS1
  • Experience of working with children with a range of SEN, including Autism (ASC/ASD).
  • Have high expectations of achievement and behaviour management.
  • Knowledge of how to support teaching and learning effectively and efficiently.
  • Knowledge of ways to adapt and personalise learning to cater for the needs of individual children, particularly those with additional needs.
  • A range of behaviour management strategies, underpinned by a calm and caring approach.
  • A professional manner with excellent communication skills

Midday Supervisory Assistant (MDSA)

Contract: Permanent

Hours: 7.5 hrs Monday to Friday.  Term time only plus 5 training days.

Salary: Level 1d Point 3 £9.36 per hour

 

We are looking for a Midday Supervisory Assistant who will be a positive, enthusiastic, caring and patient addition to our team, with excellent communication skills and a friendly and approachable manner.

 

With a kind and supportive approach, your role will be to support the children at lunchtimes, both with their meals and with play activities.
