Pre-school
Pre-School
Welcome to our Pre-School page.
Renhold Primary School has Pre-school provision onsite, catering for children aged 3-4 years+, preparing them for their transition into full time education in Reception Class.
At Renhold Pre-School, we strive to keep your children safe and happy in their learning environment. We want your children to grow and develop into confident, resilient and independent young learners.
We aim to provide a wide range of learning experiences where children can be engaged, enthusiastic and curious about their environment. Children are given access to high quality provision, resources and learning opportunities which cater across the entire Early Years Curriculum, following statutory guidance set by the DFE and meeting all requirements for assessment.
We strongly believe that all young children learn through play; therefore, we will encourage and inspire their learning through rich play experiences both indoors and outdoors. Our goal is embed a love for learning with our pupils which will develop them into life-long learners. Pre-school children are able to access the school hall weekly to take part in activities such as Movement and Music and Singing and Sign, as well as attending larger assemblies and events where appropriate. Children from Pre-school also team up with Reception Class each year to put on a wonderful Christmas production for parents, friends and family.
We recognise the importance of parents, children and teacher relationships and we value your contributions and we would like to fully involve you in the life of our school.
Our Pre-school is a popular choice for families of the village and further afield, giving children the opportunity to develop their skills of mark making, pre-reading, social and emotional development as well as providing them with a safe and nurturing environment to explore all that the setting has to offer.
Expressing an interest in your child attending our Pre-school is easy; either contact our Pre-School Administrator Vicky Thompson or alternatively drop in and see us, where you will be able to arrange a tour/ visit to see the setting in person.
It is important to note that attendance to our Pre-school does not guarantee a place at Renhold Primary in Reception Class, however, most parents do choose to apply to keep their child in our setting as it helps to provide continuity within environment, familiarisation with staff as well as the opportunity to maintain those important early childhood friendships.
To arrange a visit or for further details, please contact Vicky Thompson on 01234 771724 or by email: vicky.thompson@renhold.beds.sch.uk
We look forward to seeing you.
Thank you

More about our Curriculum
In Pre-school, we build our curriculum around our children's interests and fascinations.
Our practitioners ensure that our children receive a rich yet broad experience, tailoring their learning to follow their own interests and carefully planning experiences that can engage, develop, excite and nurture life long learners.
5 to Thrive
Five to Thrive is an attachment-based approach to support positive parenting. It's aim is to support parents to be able to 'tune in' to their children. ... The Five to Thrive approach has five "building blocks" that count equally towards parenting a healthy brain: Respond, Cuddle, Relax, Play and Talk and we have adopted this both in Year R and in Pre-school.
Each bag is filled with age appropriate activities and resources to explore each building block with your child at home. Parents can sign these bags out to take home for a week at a time.
50 THINGS TO DO BEFORE YOU'RE 5
50 things has just launched in Bedfordshire.
It helps parents develop their home learning environment so that far more children thrive by the age of five. As a result, more children develop the skills, language and resilience needed in school and beyond.
The initiative is based on the simple notion that access to life-changing, fun, low or no-cost experiences with your family, indoors and outdoors, is a great way to support young children’s development.
The app is free to download and gives you a range of low or no cost activities to get involved in across our local area. You can download it from the app store, or scan the QR code above!
It's perfect for the summer holidays!!
