Safeguarding/Child Protection
Child Protection/Safeguarding
Renhold VC Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
We have a number of policies and procedures in place that contribute to our safeguarding commitment, including our Child Protection Policy which can be viewed below.
Sometimes we may need to share information and work in partnership with other agencies when there are concerns about a child's welfare. Where possible, we will ensure that our concerns about our pupils are discussed with his/her parents/carers.Where a child has made a safeguarding disclosure to a member of staff, we will consult with the Multi Agency Support Hub (MASH). We will endeavour to treat families with sensitivity and respect whilst any such issues are ongoing.
We actively support the Government's Prevent Agenda, to counter radicalism and extremism.

Nurture Team
On occasions, families require additional support and our Nurture Team is here to provide that for you. We have close links with other agencies and services and can signpost you to ones which can provide you with expert advice.
The term Early Help is used to describe the process of taking action early and as soon as possible to tackle problems emerging for children, young people and their families. Effective help can occur at any point in a child or young person's life. The Early Help team at Bedford Borough have services in the following areas:
- Family Focus Service
- Inclusion Support Team
- Education Welfare Service
- Education Support for 14 - 19
- Family Information Service
- Early Years Team
- Early Help Coordination
- Early Help Team
- Triple P Positive Parenting Programme
We have a team of experienced staff who can guide you through the Early help process. Our team is led by our Wellbeing Leader, Mrs Andrea Wilkinson. She is currently training in Therapeutic Based Play. Two members of staff have received training using the Wellbeing Toolkit, which provides basic support in a variety of common issues such as anxiety, stress, depression, anxiety and anger management.
