Remote Education Provision

Our Approach

At Renhold VC Primary School, we aim to ensure that pupils continue to access high-quality education when they are unable to attend school for an extended period. Remote education may be provided in circumstances such as:

  • School closure due to exceptional circumstances.
  • Individual pupils who cannot attend school because of complex health needs.
  • Other situations where attendance is not possible for a prolonged period.

Accessing Learning

Where remote education is appropriate, pupils may receive:

  • Learning activities through our chosen online platforms.
  • Access to curriculum resources and lesson materials.
  • Assignments and tasks linked to their current learning in class.
  • Opportunities to receive feedback from staff.

Expectations for Pupils

We encourage pupils to:

  • Complete learning activities to the best of their ability.
  • Engage regularly with learning provided.
  • Follow school expectations for online conduct and safety.
  • Seek support if they encounter difficulties.

Expectations for Parents and Carers

Parents and carers can support remote education by:

  • Providing a suitable space for learning where possible.
  • Encouraging regular engagement with learning activities.
  • Communicating with the school if support is required.
  • Supporting safe and responsible use of technology.

Access to Technology

If your child experiences difficulties accessing remote learning due to limited technology or internet access, please contact the school office. We will work with families to identify possible solutions and support.

Support for Pupils with SEND

We recognise that some pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) may require adaptations to remote learning. We will make reasonable adjustments to ensure learning remains accessible and inclusive.

Safeguarding

Safeguarding remains our highest priority during any period of remote education. All online interactions will be conducted in accordance with the school's safeguarding and online safety policies.
