Pre-School

 

This week the children in Pre-school have been doing lots of Gruffalo related activities including junk modelling and creating pictures.  

 

The things we found most interesting and exciting this week were….

 

“Reading books!”  “Making a Gruffalo!”

Reception

 

This week the children in Reception Class have been learning about the story of ‘The Tiger Who Came To Tea’ and the life cycle of chickens, learning the days of the week and junk modelling. 

 

The things we found most interesting and exciting this week were….

 

“Learning the days of the week!”  “Making a junk model train!”

Class 1

 

This week the children in Class 1 have been learning about the Good Samaritan, practising number bonds in maths and learning about the life cycle of an emperor penguin.

 

The things we found most interesting and exciting this week were….

 

“Colouring!”  “Looking after our sunflowers!” “Practising my sentences"

Class 2

 

This week the children in Class 2 have been learning all about time, subordinate clauses and the similarities and differences of two stories.  

 

The things we found most interesting and exciting this week were….

 

“Learning outside!” “Doing Science.” “Playing on Scratch!”

Class 3

 

This week the children in Class 3 have been learning different methods for subtraction including using columns, painting colour washes to create backgrounds for their ‘Blazing Blitz’ pictures, writing up their evacuee letters in their best handwriting and learning about Moses in RE.    

 

The things we found most interesting and exciting this week were….

 

“I liked art the most!”  “Testing the windmills we made in science!”

Class 4

 

This week the children in Class 4 have been learning the grid method for multiplication in maths, making electrical circuits in science and writing letters in literacy.  

 

The things we found most interesting and exciting this week were…

 

“Making different circuits!”  “Doing my corrections in maths and learning different methods!”

Class 5

 

This week the children in Class 5 have been dissecting flowers and learning about their different parts in science, comparing and adding decimals in maths, and writing and performing raps with their own riffs in music.   

 

The things we found most interesting and exciting this week were….

 

“Seeing different parts of a flower.”  “Writing our raps!”

Class 6

 

This week the children in Class 6 have been circuit training and playing volleyball in PE, revising for their SATS and learning about the digestive system in science. 

 

The things we found most interesting and exciting this week were….

 

 “PE especially volleyball!”  “I enjoyed circuit training.”
