Monday 23 – Friday 27 September

 

Pre-School

This week the children in Pre-school have been making a family tree and sharing facts about their families, making and tasting funny face biscuits, listening to music and learning different movements, and learning all about the human skeleton.

 

 

The things we found most interesting and exciting this week were….

 

“Biscuits!”  “Skeleton!”

Reception

This week the children in Reception Class have been building structures, making cupcakes, learning high frequency words, mixing colours to make new ones, and have learnt the sound ‘c’.

 

The things we found most interesting and exciting this week were….

 

“Mixing colours!” “Cakes!”

Class 1

This week the children in Class 1 have been acting out ‘The Lost Son’ Bible story which they found very funny, learning the ‘more than’ and ‘less than’ symbols, learning all about adjectives and making alien models out of clay.

 

 

The things we found most interesting and exciting this week were….

 

“Clay models!” “Adjectives!”

Class 2

This week the children in Class 2 have been learning everything you need to know about adjectives, reading the book Beegu by Alexis Deacon, doing gymnastics in P.E. and painting homemade car models.

 

The things we found most interesting and exciting this week were….

 

 “Painting our cars!”  “Beegu!”

Class 3

This week the children in Class 3 have been learning how to making Dalmatians out of clay, computing, writing about heroes and villains, and adding and subtracting in 10s and 100s.

 

The things we found most interesting and exciting this week were….

 

“Story!” “Computing!”

Class 4

This week the children in Class 4 have been playing a funny game where you have to trust your partner to guide you through the baked beans whilst blindfolded, counting in 25s and 1000s and learning times tables in maths, and had a visit from author Julia Jarman.

 

The things we found most interesting and exciting this week were…

 

“Timestables!” “R.E with Mrs Gaunt!”

Class 5

This week the children in Class 5 have been making marshmallow igloos, rounding to the nearest 10,000, acting out scenes in RE to help them explore and understand different people’s lifestyles and why gratitude is important, and doing guided reading.

 

The things we found most interesting and exciting this week were….

 

“Rounding in maths!” “Igloo!”

Class 6

This week the children in Class 6 have been writing a newspaper article all about the discovery of Tutankhamun’s tomb, purifying extremely dirty water in science, and working on multiplication, addition, subtraction and division in maths. 

 

The things we found most interesting and exciting this week were….

 

“Addition!’’ “Playing netball!”

Spotlight on Julia Jarman! 


This week Class 3 and 4 were lucky enough to have author Julia Jarman come in and talk about her absolutely amazing books and how to write stories. She also did lots of awesome activities with them. They had a great time, many thanks Julia!
