Pre-School

This week the children in Pre-school have been blackberry picking and collecting conkers near the church, learning all about and caring for our teeth, and playing.

 

The things we found most interesting and exciting this week were….

 

“Teeth!”  “Playing!”

Reception

This week the children in Reception Class have been learning new sounds, writing sentences using new words ‘I am’, went on a big number hunt around the school and used mirrors to help them draw self portraits. 

 

The things we found most interesting and exciting this week were….

 

“Self portraits!” “The great big number hunt!”

Class 1

This week the children in Class 1 have been making alien themed posters, investigating the UFO crash site, adding ‘1 more’ in maths and watching Numberjacks.

 

The things we found most interesting and exciting this week were….

 

“Maths!” “Alien poster!”

Class 2

This week the children in Class 2 have been learning all about space and space buggies including designing their own, studying different materials and exploring what they are made up of in science and answering lots of questions about pictograms.

 

The things we found most interesting and exciting this week were….

 

 “Learning about materials!”  “Space!”

Class 3

This week the children in Class 3 have been comparing Dalmatians of all different kinds, exploring the similarities and differences of Cinderella as she is portrayed in different countries, doing yoga, playing hockey in PE, went to church for The Eucharist, made ‘Pic Collages’ in maths and drew female dogs in art!

 

The things we found most interesting and exciting this week were….

Class 4

This week the children in Class 4 have been learning all about Noah’s Ark with Mrs Gaunt, designing and making ‘villain’ posters, rounding tens and hundreds in maths, making time table posters and playing maths bingo! They also went to church for The Eucharist.

 

The things we found most interesting and exciting this week were…

 

“Noah’s Ark!” “Making villain posters”

Class 5

This week the children in Class 5 have been learning more about ancient Egypt, designing and building freestanding structures that will hold a marble, going on a Roman numeral hunt and rounding numbers in maths. They also went to church for The Eucharist.

 

The things we found most interesting and exciting this week were….

 

“Rounding in maths!” “Freestanding structures!”

Class 6

This week the children in Class 6 have been planning and documenting the mummification process, were awarded their Senior Student badges and the first of the pen licenses in assembly, played handball in PE, learnt all about GPS in computing and went to church for The Eucharist.  

 

The things we found most interesting and exciting this week were….

 

“Learning about GPS!’’ “Playing handball!”

Spotlight on assembly! 


On Monday, during assembly, we learnt all about the Eucharist and the various different names for it, the blessing that takes place and we practised the hymns ahead of the church service.
