Welcome to the latest issue of our Weekend Round Up!  

 

The last few weeks have been so busy at school!  We’re back with the10th issue of our Weekend Round Up and the last for this term.  We hope you enjoy it!

Pre-School

This week the children in Pre-school have been practising their writing ready for Reception, learning more about fish and sea creatures, riding the bikes in the beautiful weather, dressing up and had a fabulous time at their Sports Day.

 

The things we found most interesting and exciting this week were….

 

“Riding on the fast bike!”  “Dressing up!”

Reception

This week the children in Reception Class have been practising their phonics by playing fun phonics games, went on their trip to Mead Open Farm and had their Sports Day.      

 

The things we found most interesting and exciting this week were….

 

“Going on the trip!” “Having ice lollies after Sports Day!”

Class 1

This week the children in Class 1 have been writing about their trip to Mead Open Farm, doing yoga, learning lots about old fashion seaside adventures and taking part in Sports Day.

 

The things we found most interesting and exciting this week were….

 

“Yoga!” “Going to the farm!”

Class 2

This week the children in Class 2 have been on their school trip to Stoke Bruerne and writing about the adventures they had, writing in the dictionaries they made last week and took part in Sports Day. 

 

The things we found most interesting and exciting this week were….

 

 “School trip!”  “Sports Day!”

Class 3

This week the children in Class 3 have been watching the Class 6 Leavers’ Play, doing column addition in maths, writing their pupil comments for school reports, taking part in Sports Day, performing in the Sing On concert at the Corn Exchange and chilling out on Friday watching Narnia.  

 

The things we found most interesting and exciting this week were….

 

“Leavers’ Play!” “Column addition!”

Class 4

This week the children in Class 4 have been creating their own vertebrate creatures, learning all about the activities they will be doing during their trip to Grafham Water, taking part in Sports Day and working on division using the bus stop method in maths. 

 

The things we found most interesting and exciting this week were…

 

“Sports Day!” “Short division!”

Class 5

This week the children in Class 5 have been making rollercoaster posters in art, writing paragraphs about a trip to a theme park, working on translation in maths, had their own Sports Day and also helped out at the Key Stage 1 Sports Day.

 

The things we found most interesting and exciting this week were….

 

“Art!”  “Working on translation!”

Class 6

This week the children in Class 6 have been rehearsing for and performing their Leavers’ Play, getting ready for Secondary School and taking part in Sports Day

Spotlight on Sports! 
On Thursday, two more of our school teams competed in County Finals with Class 3 & 4 taking part in the tennis tournament and Quad Kids Athletics. Plus the school was awarded the School Games Gold Award for the third year in a row! And there’s still the Class 5 & 6 Football Tournament to go this week. What a brilliant end to the school year!
