Pre-School

 

This week the children in Pre-school have been playing with ice, enjoying the sunshine outside, and watering their plants.  

 

The things we found most interesting and exciting this week were….

 

“Going outside!”  “Watering the plants!”

Reception

 

This week the children in Reception Class have been using adjectives and conjunctions, measuring distance using abnormal measures such as hands and feet, and reading The Ugly Duckling. 

 

The things we found most interesting and exciting this week were….

 

“Doing maths and phonics!”  “Counting in maths!”

Class 1

 

This week the children in Class 1 have been making paper mache eggs, learning how to make 20p, 50p and £1 using lower denomination coins and learning how to write a recipe. 

 

The things we found most interesting and exciting this week were….

 

“I liked parents’ afternoon!”

Class 2

 

This week the children in Class 2 have been working on their ‘special quizzes’ (SATs), writing instructions and writing letters to Paddington Bear.    

 

The things we found most interesting and exciting this week were….

 

“I liked writing!"

Class 3

 

This week the children in Class 3 have been learning about friction in science, making collages of their ‘crazy hair’ on Friday, and learning about rationing during World War II.

 

The things we found most interesting and exciting this week were….

 

“Crazy hair day!”

Class 4

 

This week the children in Class 4 have been learning about Morse code and how it was used in World War II, talking about their forthcoming Grafham Water trip and learning more about electricity in science.  

 

The things we found most interesting and exciting this week were…

 

“Learning how to crack Morse code!”

Class 5

 

This week the children in Class 5 have been learning about poetry and writing their own poems about a family member, learning about volume in maths and puberty and personal development in PSHE, learnt how to construct sentences using the day, date and month in French, and had another class band session.    

 

The things we found most interesting and exciting this week were….

 

“I enjoyed French!”

Class 6

 

This week the children in Class 6 have been writing about Jane Lines, using line graphs in maths and applying their maths knowledge to work out how to run a theme park.  

 

The things we found most interesting and exciting this week were….

 

 “Athletics in PE!”
