Pre-School

 

This week the children in Pre-school have been learning about owls, elephants and trust and have painted the outdoor playhouse. 

 

The things we found most interesting and exciting this week were….

 

“Owls!”  “The elephants!”  “Painting the house outside!”

Reception

 

This week the children in Reception Class have been learning about rhyming words and making up their own rhymes, practising their phonics, reading Chicken Licken and learning about the life cycle of frog. 

 

The things we found most interesting and exciting this week were….

 

“Doing free colouring!”  “Lifecycle of frogs!”

Class 1

 

This week the children in Class 1 have been reading and learning about Chicken Licken, subtracting and adding 10, sewing and exploring the contents of an egg! 

 

The things we found most interesting and exciting this week were….

 

“Doing Yoga!”  “Chicken Licken!”

Class 2

 

This week the children in Class 2 have been learning about and drawing mini-beasts, started their SATs, and have been learning more about time.   

 

The things we found most interesting and exciting this week were….

 

“Going outside!” “Doing the mini-beast sheet!”

Class 3

 

This week the children in Class 3 have been learning column addition and using it to solve maths problems, writing fictional stories with ‘foodimal’ characters, went on their evacuee school trip and watched a production of Charlotte’s Web performed by a local theatre group.  

 

The things we found most interesting and exciting this week were….

 

“Surprise panto!”  “Our school trip!”  “Doing column addition in maths”

Class 4

 

This week the children in Class 4 have been writing their own newspaper reports, went on the Stibblington evacuee trip with Class 3, learning 5 digit numbers in maths, learning more about electrical circuits and playing Kwik Cricket in PE.

 

The things we found most interesting and exciting this week were…

 

“Writing my letter!”  “Writing a newspaper report!”  “Going to Stibblington”

Class 5

 

This week the children in Class 5 have been writing a ‘flashback’ story, calculating journey times using bus and train timetables, learning about how animals make young, did a SPaG (Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar) test, and have been learning about physical development and puberty in PSHE.    

 

The things we found most interesting and exciting this week were….

 

“Making clock-inspired frames in D&T!”  “The class band!” “Playing cricket in PE.”

Class 6

 

This week the children in Class 6 have been sitting their SATs and have created a digestive system presentation using 1 of 3 different apps including iMovie. 

 

The things we found most interesting and exciting this week were….

 

 “I liked learning about the digestive system!”
